oh, those padres first rounders...

Padres minor leaguer Tate suspended 50 games:
Donavan Tate, the Padres' first-round draft pick in 2009, was suspended for 50 games Tuesday for violating Major League Baseball's drug prevention and treatment program.

He's no Matt Bush, but Padres success with first round picks is rather pathetic. You have to go back to 1993 and Derrick Lee to find someone who could be called a success, and his success came post-San Diego.

atom & his package - behold, i shall do a new thing ep (1998 vital music)

This was my first introduction into the wacky, sequencer-filled world of Adam Goren, better known as Atom & His Package. I had a record of Adam's previous poppish-punk band Fracture, (which, by the way, is really, really good and unheralded), but this is nothing like that. This is pretty fucking catchy and pretty fucking funny.

devilicious food truck

A while back I hit up Devilicious, and while I can't remember exactly what I got, I do remember it was some sort of crazy korean bacon wrapped hot dog and some sort of fancy french fry. I also remember it was fucking fantastic. Their menu is always changing, so go check out their website, which I'd totally post if I wasn't currently phone blogging.
