Excellent split. Each band does an original and a cover.
Funny, a few days ago The Vegan mentions Ramone To The Bone, a site I somehow hadn't heard of, and today when I go to see if anyone already had a 192+mbps rip up, what does ye olde Google bring me? Ramone To The Bone. So big thanks to them. Go check 'em out.
- Q - Blabbermouth
- Q - Rockaway Beach [Ramones]
- S - Lerch
- S - I Need Adventure [GG Allin]
i like that the "the" in my name is now capitalized.
ReplyDeletethe one time i had a wild hair to do a record distro, i sent $300 to ringing ear when they were going out of business, and got a shit ton of their stuff.
i maybe sold 3 records to friends. the rest i gave away or sold/traded as used to record stores.
this was one of the records in that pile.
also, re: RTTB. they posted three "Mutant Pop" collections recently: singles, CD's, and SRCD's. these aren't complete collections, however they are missing the same releases I am.
ReplyDeletewhen i saw them post those, i was part excited that i'd finally fill in the needed holes, and partly dissappointed that someone else out there is doing the same thing i'm trying to do.
the fact that the collections aren't complete was sort of comforting but frustrating at the same time.
So what are you missing, if I may ask? Or is that confidential info?
ReplyDeletenot confidential at all. i am trying to find it on blogs without having requested it, tho, so you posting any of these kind of defeats the purpose behind finding them online. i don't have any of these physical copies, but so far my digital collection has come solely from posts online, not my own rips.
ReplyDeletei know it's silly, but it's part of the challenge and somehow i can justify that not being me releasing this stuff myself and going against Tim's wishes. i'm just organizing what other people have put out there.
here's what i'm still missing:
MP-044 Oswald Five-O Lost and Found 7"
MP-1007 The Daryls Who Killed Bambi? SRCD
MP-1010 Jake and the Stiffs If It Ain't Stiff, It Ain't Worth a Fuck SRCD
MP-1017 Spazboy Kill the Soundman SRCD
MP-1033 The No Goods Better Than Beer SRCD
MP-1035 Goin' Places Warm Up SRCD
MP-1046 Handgun Bravado Take Tomorrow From the MP website and the man himself: This was actually released by MP -- the final release. Only about 2 dozen were made, with sleeves run on an Epson ink-jet printer in an effort to eliminate the last onerous fixed cost of production, sleeve printing. Band leader Arne Cherkoss (UNDERHAND, ZOINKS!) was not amused and pulled the release within days, taking it to Mark Enoch's Knock Knock Records. This proved to be the merciful coup de grace delivered to a sloppy and ailing label. (It's fitting and symbolic that the guy I started the label with let me know when it was over, and I thank him for it.) Unfortunately, the ball was subsequently dropped on a whole host of projects (listed here) and the label name tarnished severely in the process. To the best of my knowledge, all of these discs were sold at a single HANDGUN BRAVADO show. It was never put into regular producton by MP. It's certainly the single rarest MP release. It is equally certain that no one cares.
MP-522 Attention Deficit Adventures in Laissez-Faire Economics CD
and then Tim also bootlegged two cds:
No Matrix The Clash Live CD
and
No Matrix Holly and the Italians Twenty Years Late CD
right now i'm just looking for digital versions of all of these. then i begin the even more daunting and fiscally irresponsible task hunting down the physical copies.
I knew the singer from Spazboy back in the day. I will see what I can do on that front.
ReplyDeleteHey. Thx for your positive words about RTTB.

The Bone
Good to hear! Ripping vinyl is not the funnest thing ever, so if somebody's already done it, makes my life easier. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI don´t know if you see it.
ReplyDeleteHere the Goin Places Release...
It´s a RIP from the band.
