STINK - Diana / Never Will Forget 7" (1993 Megalomania Records)

One of the more unheralded pop punk / power pop bands from the 90's. Seattle's Stink seemed to have some sort of psychic connection to San Diego, doing splits with Building Club (i.e. Everready) and Peaceful Meadows. Maybe they are the punk Eddie Vedder or something. I dunno. This was their first 7" and it is fucking great.

Hello Jerry, nice post here about that 7''. Most recently I've tried to contact you on your Instagram to talk about another rare release that you have, not sure if you ever saw my message there, but it could be great if we can talk if you don't mind about it

Memory lane: "Never Will Forget" was on the first Shreds Comp, which despite being pretty average and run of the mill as comps from the time period go, snapped me out of my early 90's "alternative" bubble and fostered my love of indie record stores, pop punk, and 7" vinyl as a young teen, totally altering the trajectory of my musical and cultural tastes. Some of the 45s I purchased or traded thanks to inspiration from that comp even made their way from my collection directly onto this blog several years back! Stumbling onto that CD was one of those dynamic, seminal youth events that seems utterly mundane and forgettable in retrospect, but felt world-altering at the time. Cheers!
