snap krackle drop / those meddling kids split (1995)

Don't know a lot about these two bands, just that they were from Arizona, and this split intrigued me enough to get it in '96 (I love cover songs). SKD does a Phil Collins cover, while TMK take on The Cars.

  1. Cool! Thank you for posting this. Yea, I put this out on my label Social Retardance (only 300 copies). That's me screaming on the SKD Phil Collins cover but our guitarist Skunk did most of our vocals and writing. He went on to play in The Slandering, a hot psychobilly band from Hollywood. His new band is called The Kat Killers. Our drummer Patti played with various experimental and rockabilly bands in Phoenix. I started a webzine called Madpen, sang for Terror 45, and guitar for Blanche Davidian before starting a new label/management company called Vodka Tonic Media. Now I have a music blog ANTI-SNOB.com

Those Meddling Kids began immedialtley after the popular Ernie's Rubber Duckie broke up in 1994 when singer Rick and guitarist Jason wanted to form a new band. The three guys they recruited was Neil Impossible, Rob 40, and Mike Skullbuster. After Mike split Gentleman Jon filled in on bass.
After TMK broke up, Neil/Rob/and Jon started The Impossibles (or, due to the mix-up of the bay area band with the same name, they have been known as US Impossibles and Thee Impossible Ones) and are one of the longest running punk bands still playing on the scene here in Phoenix.
Rob had left The Impossibles to play drums with Mob 40s for a couple of years and then returned. Rob also re-united with Mike Skullbuster and started the Smokey Mountain Skullbusters which just played their very last show this past weekend.
Jon sings on and off for Johnny Blood & The Transfusions.
Neil has played with practically everyone and is known as one of the punk scenes best and most seasoned guitar players. Among Neil's resume are The Sonic Thrills, The New Romantics, The Fatskins (he and Jon filled in on various reunion shows), and an occasional traditional celtic band whose name escapes me.

  2. Jason from TMK/ERD does electronic and experimental music now...first under the name Gang Lu and now dim.

I know Rick (TMK singer) was in a rckabilly band in Vegas a few years back...not sure what he is doing now.
