Please stop pretending that Sarah Palin has a
grasp of national economic issues.
Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colo., Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said, "The fact is that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers. The McCain-Palin administration will make them smaller and smarter and more effective for homeowners who need help."
"Too expensive to the taxpayers?"
They're private entities.
She may be perfect for Alaska (and honestly, from what I've seen she does seem to fight pretty hard for her constituents), but that doesn't necessarily translate nationally. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you are not a vice-presidential candidate.
