Reproductive rights groups chastised Gov. Tim Pawlenty Monday for refusing federal money for comprehensive sex education in exchange for abstinence-education funds that will cost the state hundreds of thousands of dollars. Advocates say Pawlenty’s decision to opt for the more expensive — and controversial — program arises from his presidential ambitions and not the best interests of the state.
GWB all over again. Just put your head in the sand and convince yourself that teenagers don't have sex. Not saying that absolves Obama from all criticism, but you may want to remember how bad things were pre-Obama.
a frightening thought!
ReplyDeletethat was defiantly a political stunt. Even the Pawlenty supports here admit that and say that he will have to rescind that order.
ReplyDeleteHe's running a very distant 4th in GOP poling of candidates because he has no name recognition. This gives him 15 minutes of fame and gets him an invitation to the Sunday morning political shows. Honestly, he hasn't been this big of a tool as our Gov. Jesse was WAY worse....trust me.
That's the thing, Pawlenty always struck me as reasonable as it's gonna get for a Republican, so when I see him going down this Conservative path to troll for votes, it just makes me want to just give up on politics all together. Watching CNN/Fox/MSNBC for 5 minutes accomplishes does the same, though.
